Foot traffic is the foundation for understanding the performance of specific properties and locations. It helps to inform buying decisions, evaluate campaigns, understand trends, and track customer preferences. With Placer, you can analyze foot traffic from 2017 and up to 8 different locations at one time during a specified date range. The following metrics are provided:
- Visits: The extrapolated number of visits (foot traffic) at the property
- Visits / sq ft: The number of visits at the property by its size (square footage)
- Visitors: The extrapolated number of unique visitors who visited the property
- Visit Frequency: The number of total visits by unique visitors
- Avg. Dwell Time: The average amount of time a visitor spends at the property during a visit
- Panel Visits: The number of unique mobile devices that visited the location examined (this can be turned off if preferred via a request to Support)

Get started with the following steps:
Step 1: Navigate to Explore and type your POI into the search bar
Up to 8 POIsPoints (Locations) of Interest. can be chosen at one time by checking the empty white box next to your POI in the center of the page or on the left sidebar. The number of POIs selected will appear at the bottom of the left sidebar. Once the POIs are selected, click Open Report and select Property. This will open the Property report.

Step 2: Adjust the dates to any custom range
Reports will default to the last 12 months, so you can click the calendar icon and choose the preferred date range, then click Apply. Scroll to analyze visit trends, get ranking information (Ranking Overview), explore customers’ favorite places (Favorite Places), and understand the visitor journey (Visitor JourneyThe flow of commercial activity to and from any property that shows the top "Prior" and "Post" locations.).
